A truck driver was severely burned and might have suffered a broken leg when a flash fire erupted from his tanker at Mesa Oil in Arvada on Thursday.
The fire was out when Arvada firetrucks arrived, but the truck was “wrinkled” from the concussion, according to a statement from the department.
The truck driver was not identified.
He was airlifted to University of Colorado Hospital, but his condition was not available Thursday evening.
A flash fire can be caused by dust that ignites in fumes or gases, according to the fire department.
