ADAMS COUNTY — Animal-control officers say two dogs attacked a 70-year-old woman in her yard Friday night.

Animal-control officers said Mary Garcia was seriously injured when she was bitten in the face, leg and arm. She reportedly suffered a heart attack after the incident and was being treated at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital.

Garcia was attacked around 7:40 p.m. on the 6300 block of Julian Street, officials said.

Animal-control officers say a boxer mix and a bull mastiff/pit-bull mix have been impounded at the Adams County Animal Shelter in Commerce City.

The Adams County Animal Shelter’s Millie Beck said Garcia was in her yard when the dogs ran down the street and attacked her.

Animal-control officers charged the owners with two counts of having vicious dogs. 9News
