MONTROSE, Colo.—The Montrose County coroner says an inmate found dead in his bunk died of a prescription drug overdose.
Fifty-year-old Andrew “Shawn” Gibson died Aug. 22 at the jail.
Coroner Thomas Canfield said Tuesday that Gibson died from an overdose of prescription morphine and valium, and also had serious heart disease. Canfield said there was no evidence of trauma or of felonious conduct.
