NEW ORLEANS — President Barack Obama has told a young boy that he shouldn’t take it too seriously when he hears all the criticism aimed at the president.
At the end of a town-hall meeting in New Orleans on Thursday, the boy asked Obama about the harsh words he deals with as president. Obama told him, “You have to take it with a grain of salt.”
Obama said that some of the criticism “is just politics,” while some of it results from the frustrations of people in tough economic times. He added that the president gets some of the credit in good times and has to take “some of the blame” when things get tough.
Obama said he’s a “pretty tough guy” — and that you just “have to keep going” when you’re doing what’s right. The Associated Press
