JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two unrelated motorcycle crashes in Jefferson County left a woman dead and a man critically injured Sunday.
A 24-year-old woman was killed about 1:20 p.m. on Jefferson County Road 126 north of Deckers when another bike in a group she was riding with crashed in front of her, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The rider who crashed ahead of her sustained moderate injuries, troopers said. The woman was thrown from her bike back and over a guard rail. Her name was not released.
About 10 minutes later, a motorcycle and a Lexus sedan collided near Red Rocks Park on Colorado 74 near Morrison Road.
The motorcycle rider was airlifted to St. Anthony Central Hospital with critical injuries, but his name was not immediately released.
