ALLIANCE, Neb.—An Alliance woman has died in a Colorado hospital after she and her husband were injured in a collision with a train in Nebraska’s Panhandle.

A hospital spokeswoman says 78-year-old Lois Behm died Sunday night at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

The Nebraska State Patrol says Behm and her 82-year-old husband, Don Behm, were crossing double tracks on a rural road seven miles east of Alliance on Saturday morning when their pickup was struck by the eastbound train.

The patrol says Don Behm was driving north and had seen a parked train that apparently obscured his view of the train that struck his pickup. There is a stop sign but no crossing arms at that spot.

Don Behm is listed in serious condition at a Scottsbluff hospital.
