Denver East senior Shae Kelley, a 6-foot forward, committed to play for the University of Colorado women’s basketball program, her father, Lewis Kelley, said Tuesday.

Regarded as a superior athlete, Kelley averaged about 13 points per game as a junior in helping Denver East reach the Class 5A round of 16 before the Angels lost to ThunderRidge. She also ran on East’s sprint relay team during track season.

Kelley chose CU over Long Beach State, her father said. She also drew interest from the University of Denver, Colorado State, Northwestern, Arizona State, Nebraska and North Carolina State, he said.
