A Loveland man was charged Thursday in the death of his neighbor, a 63-year-old at-risk adult who lived in the same apartment complex.
Esteban Maestas, 53, faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault on an at-risk adult in the death of Sidney “Sid” Jaramillo.
Maestas reportedly told officers Jaramillo fell, after Jaramillo was found unconscious at the apartment complex at 161 S. Lincoln Ave. on Oct. 13.
Jaramillo died from a head injury Tuesday. An autopsy Wednesday concluded his injury was not caused by a fall, according to Loveland police, and the Larimer County District Attorney’s office filed charges against Maestas Thursday.
