DENVER—A man accused of shaking his infant son now faces first-degree murder and fatal child abuse charges because his baby has died.
Denver prosecutors had initially charged 20-year-old Stephen Dailey with attempted first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury for the Sept. 15 incident involving his eight-week-old son. Prosecutors announced Friday they would be seeking more serious charges because Dailey’s son died last week.
Dailey is expected to be advised of the new charges Tuesday morning.
