A large stretch of eastbound Interstate 70 will be shut down this weekend while construction crews work on a FasTracks project.
All lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 shut down between the West Colfax Avenue and Sixth Avenue exits shut down Friday night and will remained closed until Monday at 5:30 a.m. The eastbound ramp from C-470 to I-70 also is closed.
Motorists will be detoured off I-70 at Sixth Avenue, to I-25 north and then back to I-70. Truckers with loads of more than 30,000 pounds will be rerouted off I-70 at Genesee, then to U.S. 40.
