JOHANNESBURG — The U.N. torture investigator says immigration officials at Zimbab we’s main airport have blocked him from entering the country.
Manfred Nowak said late Wednesday that the officials were refusing to allow him in even though he showed them his invitation letter from Zimbabwe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
Nowak says he believes the last-minute refusal comes from a branch of the government not under Tsvangirai’s control.
