BOULDER, Colo.—A former Louisville woman serving a 16-year sentence in the death of her infant son has been granted new counsel.
A Boulder County District Court judge on Thursday appointed public defender Seth Temin to represent Molly Midyette so that her trial attorneys can testify that her husband bullied her before her trial to keep her from testifying about his alleged role in the boy’s death.
Molly Midyette was convicted in 2007 of child abuse resulting in the death. She is seeking a new trial.
Her husband, Alex Midyette, is serving a 16-year sentence in his son’s death.
Prosecutors said the couple waited too long to get medical help for their son, Jason, who died in 2006 with broken bones and a skull fracture.
