BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.—Bone fragments found in upstate New York woods have been identified as remains of an 18-year-old Colorado woman who disappeared while selling magazines door-to-door in August 2003.
Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says the skull and bone fragments found in rural Greenfield Tuesday belonged to Jennifer M. Hammond of Littleton, Colo.
Police say Hammond was last seen when she was dropped off with several other young people to sell magazines at the Creek and Pines mobile home park in Milton. She was working for Atlantic Circulation, Inc., and had left her belongings at an Albany hotel. Her parents reported her missing in November 2003.
Police are investigating the case as a homicide.
