PORTLAND, Ore. — Andre Miller scored 21 points, and LaMarcus Aldridge and Travis Outlaw each had 19 as the Trail Blazers built a big first-half lead and beat the Timberwolves 116-93 on Sunday night.
Miller, acquired last summer by Portland, scored 12 points in the third quarter. Aldridge, who had only 12 free throw attempts in the Trail Blazers’ first six games, was 9-for-9, and also grabbed 10 rebounds. Outlaw scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half.
Portland won its second consecutive game and moved within a game of the first-place Nuggets in the Pacific Division.
The Blazers won big without much offensive input from Brandon Roy, who came into the game averaging 25.2 points. He scored two points, his lowest output since Nov. 10, 2006, when he failed to score in seven minutes against New Orleans.
