The discovery of a body along a rural road in Weld County this morning is being investigated as a likely hit-and-run, authorities said.
Investigators with the Colorado State Patrol believe the woman, Jannelle C. Devisser, 28, of Brighton, was hit by a vehicle sometime overnight or early this morning, said Trooper David Hall, a patrol spokesman.
The body was spotted near the town of Lochbuie, on Weld County Road 37 just south of Weld County Road 6, by a school bus driver shortly after 7:30 a.m., Hall said.
The discovery was reported to 911 dispatchers in Weld County.”It’s a high probability that it was a hit-and-run,” Hall said.
She was likely hit between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. today.
Investigators currently do not have any information on a suspect or a suspect vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the state patrol at 970 506-4999.
