LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini is taking exception to star nose tackle Ndamukong (en-DOM-uh-ken) Suh’s (Soo) assessment of the defensive line’s performance in its last game.
Suh told reporters this week that he thought the line deserved a grade of “F” because it didn’t put enough pressure on Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing in the Cornhuskers’ 31-17 win.
Pelini bristled Wednesday when asked about the Lombardi Award finalist’s comment, saying, “When Suh starts getting paid as a coach, he can start worrying about how he grades the d-line.”
Pelini said he thought the line played well.
Pelini said he slowed down the pass rush because Reesing is good at running quarterback draws and getting out of the pocket.
