Denver police were investigating the shooting of a 3-year-old boy Sunday night, police said.
The boy’s father took him to St. Anthony Central Hospital about 7:30 p.m. The father initially told authorities that the boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting, but later backed off the story, a Denver police spokesman said.
The child is in serious condition, according to 9News.
Police are waiting on a search warrant for the man’s home in the 3400 block of West Alaska Place.
