Ski resorts such as Aspen, Vail and Steamboat Springs are expected to receive up to nine inches of snow today and tonight as a winter storm tracks across the northwest and central mountains in the next 24 hours.

However, the National Weather Service sees no snow for Denver today or during the rest of the week.

Forecasters say that it will be mostly sunny this afternoon in Denver with the high near 44.

Night-time temperatures will be in the mid-to-high 20s through the weekend with day-time highs in the 50s.

Thanksgiving Day in Denver is expected to be 57 under sunny skies.

In the mountains, there will be a shot of snow today and tonight. It will then clear, with a chance of snow again for the mountain resorts Saturday and Sunday.

Just how much snow the weekend Pacific front will bring to the mountains is still uncertain because the storm track is unclear, said forecasters.Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com
