An aspiring pro boxer, arrested in the shooting of his son in the leg, and the boy’s mother, accused of covering up the incident, were given hefty bail during their first appearance in court Tuesday.
William Thalley, 29, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. Thalley is being held on $275,000 bail.
He’s accused of shooting his 3-year-old son in the leg at their home in the 3400 block of West Alaska Place.
Police arrested the boy’s mother, Nicole Fernandez, 25, in connection with accessory to child abuse.
Fernandez wiped tears as she entered the courtroom and heard she would be held on $150,000 bail.
Both were barred from contact with their injured son.
