The father accused of with shooting his 3-year-old son in the leg and the boy’s mother, accused of covering up the incident, were given hefty bonds during their first appearance in court today.
William Thalley, 29, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. Thalley is being held on $275,000 bond.
He’s accused of shooting his son in the leg at their home in the 3400 block of West Alaska Place.
Police arrested the boy’s mother, Nicole Fernandez, 25, for alleged accessory to child abuse.
Fernandez wiped away tears as she entered the courtroom and heard she would be held on $150,000 bond.
Both were barred from contact with their injured son.
Formal charges have not been filed in the case.
