After a high-speed chase, the State Patrol stopped a stolen car from Greeley tonight on southbound Interstate 25 near Fort Collins.

Two suspects are still at large.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper originally stopped the purple 1996 Saturn near the Prospect exit near Fort Collins at 9:10 p.m., according to Sgt. John Hahn. One of the car’s three passengers ran away and the car sped south on I-25.

Shortly afterward, troopers successfully stopped the car near the Harmony exit after performing a “PIT” (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver. The female driver fled into a nearby field, Hahn said.

Police are still looking for the first passenger who ran and for the female driver. The passenger who remained in the car was arrested.

The driver,a white female in her late 20s, was described as 5 feet 6 inches with brown or blond hair and wearing blue jeans. The suspects do not appear to be armed, Hahn said.

At one point during the short pursuit speeds reached 100 mph.

The car was reported stolen in Greeley today and may have been taken from a car lot, Hahn said.
