The Barnes & Noble Bookfair, featuring 20 Colorado authors, photographers and musicians, will kick off at 10 a.m. Friday at the Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall.
Highlights of the event will include children’s author Linda Ashman, who will lead a children’s story time, and photographer John Fielder, who will sign copies of his latest work, “Ranches of Colorado.”
Flamenco guitarist Miquel Espinoza will perform songs from his recent CD, “Guitarra en Mano.”
Colorado Book Award winner Jake Adam York will join five other authors for a poetry reading.
Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of the proceeds from book sales to the Colorado Humanities and Center for the Book’s Motheread/Fatheread program. The program is a statewide effort that helps parents, adult caregivers and children read together and talk about the issues in the stories and in their lives.
For a full schedule, more information about Motheread/Fatheread or how to obtain a voucher for the book sale, contact Jennifer Long, Center of the Book coordinator, at 303-894-7951, ext. 21, or by e-mail at long@coloradohumanities.org.
