
The last of three people arrested in the death of 19-year-old Saloman Adolfo Mendoza, whose body was discovered in the trunk of a car after a high-speed chase with police, was sentenced Friday.
Derrick William Blake, 33, of Lakewood was given 54 years in prison for the Feb. 11 murder, in which he shot Mendoza in the head.
On October 9, Blake pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, menacing, eluding, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and tampering with evidence.
Angela Christine Sanders, 33, of Thornton, had already pleaded guilty to vehicular eluding and was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Philip Frank Montano, 21, of Denver, pleaded guilty to accessory to murder and reckless manslaughter and was sentenced in August to 24 years in prison.
