Denver police have arrested a 37- year-old man and are investigating whether he was responsible for the death of a woman struck by a vehicle late Saturday.
Police arrested Michael Bartczak after the accident was reported in the 3200 block of Walnut Street at 11:59 a.m.
Bartczak was driving the vehicle that hit the woman, said Denver police spokesman Joe Ramirez.
“He was the only one in the car,” Ramirez said. “He was still there and was placed in custody at the scene.”
The woman died after being taken to a hospital. Her identity is pending positive identification by the medical examiner and notification of next of kin.
Police said they suspect that Bart czak was intoxicated.
