PUEBLO, Colo.—The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pueblo has installed former Miami parish priest Fernando Isern as the fourth bishop in its 67-year history.
Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput (SHAP’-yoo) presided over Isern’s consecration Thursday and conducted the ordination Mass at Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Massari Arena.
Attendees included Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony and Archbishop Pietro Sambi, who is the Vatican ambassador to the U.S.
The Cuban-born Isern replaces Arthur Tafoya, who retired.
