AURORA, Colo.—Police say a pedestrian died after he was struck by three vehicles as he crossed an intersection in the Denver suburb of Aurora.

Police Lt. Chuck DeShazer says the man was first hit at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday by an SUV that left the scene. DeShazer says two cars then hit the man but they remained at the scene.

Police don’t suspect those two drivers were speeding or under the influence of alcohol.

Witnesses told investigators the man didn’t obey a crossing signal.

The man died soon after arriving at the hospital. His name is not being released until relatives are notified.

Police say they’re trying to identify the SUV based on broken parts found at the scene. They’re also reviewing surveillance video from a nearby gas station.
