A pedestrian died Tuesday night in Aurora after being hit by a sport utility vehicle that fled the scene, police said.
The fatal incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of East Alameda Avenue and South Potomac Street, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The victim, Frank Correa, 36, of Aurora, was taken to a hospital but died from “severe injuries,” police said.
The Aurora Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who left the scene. Investigators believe the vehicle is a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, either a 2005 or 2006 model.
