CHARLESTON, S.C. — Andrew Goudelock’s long 3-pointer tied the game with two seconds left in regulation and Donavan Monroe gave the Cougars (8-6) the lead for good with a 3-pointer to start overtime Monday night.
The Tar Heels (11-4) had trailed most of the game, but used a late run to take a 72-61 lead with four minutes to go.
Goudelock scored the last eight points in regulation, including the fadeaway 3 from about 28 feet with 6-foot-10 Ed Davis in his face to make it 73-all. Monroe hit the go- ahead 3-pointer, and his two free throws with 18 seconds left provided the final margin.
