The National Western Stock Show & Rodeo continues a royal tradition: the coronation of the 55th Miss Rodeo Colorado on Sunday night during the Professional Cowboy Association Rodeo.

Kasie Pigg succeeds Glenwood Springs’ Audra Dobbs as the state’s reigning rodeo queen.

Pigg becomes the official ambassador of rodeo and agriculture for Colorado by winning four days of competition at the Miss Rodeo Colorado Pageant during the Greeley Stampede last summer.

She will carry the state flag in the stock show parade in downtown Denver on Tuesday. The parade begins at noon.

The rodeo in the Denver Coliseum begins at 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from $14 to $55 and include general admission to the stock show. Tickets are available at Front Range King Soopers stores and the stock show box office.

The stock show runs Saturday through Jan. 24 at the National Western Complex at Brighton Boulevard and Interstate 25.
