Gov. Bill Ritter announced Monday that 18 community partners across Colorado have received grants totaling $2.2 million to develop strategies for saving energy and creating jobs in the state’s rural, agricultural and mountainous regions.

The grants, awarded by the Governor’s Energy Office, are funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will help towns, counties, residents and businesses become more energy-efficient.
