The contractor working on a $1.5 million remodeling of Denver’s Central Library downtown has left the job after an FBI raid of its office in Chicago, 9News reported.
Krahl Construction had not yet been paid half of the total contract to renovate the library when it shut down suddenly Friday.
Krahl Construction’s vice president of business development in Centennial, Alexander Lagerborg, told 9News that the situation is “unfortunate” and that the company has a “great team” in Colorado. He said he could not comment on the FBI investigation.
The city is likely to seek new bids to complete the work.
