Two Denver Public Schools principals who were placed on administrative leave in 2009 pending district investigations each received bonuses of more than $13,000 for 2008-09.

McMeen Elementary principal Michael Deguire was placed on administrative leave Nov. 21, and the district’s investigation is still in process.

Deguire received a bonus of $13,625. Of that, $11,500 was awarded because the school reached performance goals and $2,125 was awarded for successfully implementing a school improvement plan.

Leslie Lindauer, who was the executive director of Emily Griffith Opportunity School, retired Dec. 21. He had been on administrative leave since Sept. 3, pending a district investigation.

Lindauer received a $19,625 bonus: $6,000 because he worked at a hard-to-serve school; $11,500 for meeting performance goals; and $2,125 for successfully implementing a school improvement plan.

District officials, citing employment laws, said they could not comment on why the principals were being investigated.

Peter Mosby, who had been the principal of Montbello High School, was placed on administrative leave in the fall. On Jan. 4, Mosby was reassigned to a teaching position at P.R.E.P. alternative school. Jeremy P. Meyer, The Denver Post
