DENVER—Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter says he plans to endorse Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper once Hickenlooper officially enters the gubernatorial race.
Ritter told reporters Tuesday he has been talking to Hickenlooper in recent days and that he would endorse his candidacy. Hickenlooper was to make an official announcement later Tuesday.
Ritter praised Hickenlooper’s work on the 2008 Democratic National Convention and his support for renewable energy.
Ritter announced last week he wouldn’t seek a second term.
