LAPORTE, Colo.—Authorities say a teenager was hurt when his pickup crashed after a 100-mph chase by a Larimer County deputy, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening.

Officials say the pursuit began early Wednesday when the deputy approached the 17-year-old, who was parked on a county road.

Authorities say the teen told the deputy he didn’t want to talk and fled. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Eloise Campanella says the deputy pursued, and the chase reached 100 mph.

The Colorado Highway Patrol says the pickup went out of control on U.S. 287, ran off the left side, returned to the highway and rolled, stopping on its roof.

The teen was airlifted to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. His name and specifics of his injuries haven’t been released.

The deputy wasn’t hurt.
