DENVER—A child development agency is trying to account for two staffers from Colorado Springs who were in Haiti when a catastrophic earthquake hit on Tuesday.
Compassion International spokesman Stephan Archer said Thursday the staffers were still missing. Their names weren’t released. Archer says that of the agency’s 80 workers in Haiti, only a handful have been confirmed to be OK.
The Colorado Springs-based group also is trying to account for 64,000 Haitian children it works with at about 230 child-development centers.
Meanwhile, the Christian humanitarian agency World Vision, based in Federal Way, Wash., packed nearly 20 tons of tents, blankets, cooking utensils and other survival equipment Thursday to send to Haiti from its Denver warehouse.
