KMGH-Channel 7 investigative reporter Tony Kovaleski has won a 2010 duPont-Columbia Award for his story on long delays in getting emergency vehicles to Denver International Airport.

The award, a top honor in broadcast journalism, cited his half-hour documentary, “33 Minutes to 3-4 Right,” The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards honor excellence in television and radio journalism at the national and local level, by independent producers as well as TV and cable networks.

Kovaleski, Arthur Kane, Jason Foster and Tom Burke collaborated on Channel 7’s report, which resulted in systemic changes by Denver city officials and Denver Health Medical Center administrators.
