COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado College’s Andrew Hamburg and Brian McMillin brought two streaks to an end on Saturday.

Both players scored two goals as Colorado College snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-5 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over third-ranked Wisconsin. The Badgers lost for the first time in eight games.

With the win, the eighth-ranked Tigers (13-8-3, 9-6-3 WCHA) moved ahead of Wisconsin (13-6-3, 9-5-2) into third place in the conference.

Hamburg opened the scoring and closed the first period with goals, giving the Tigers a 4-1 lead. McMillin also scored twice in the first period. Tyler Johnson had a goal, and Bill Sweatt netted what proved to be the game-winner midway through the third period.

Wisconsin scored three times in the third period to make a game of it. Jordy Murray started things with a goal 3:51 into the period. Ben Street, who had two goals, pulled the Badgers within 6-4 at 17:52, and Derek Stepan made it a one-goal game at 19:58.

Blake Geoffrion also scored for Wisconsin, which won 4-0 on Friday.

The Bagers’ Michael Davies had three assists, giving him five during the two-game series.

Joe Howe had 35 saves for Colorado College. Scott Gudmandson and Brett Bennett combined for 28 saves for the Badgers.
