LONGMONT, Colo.—A Longmont man is recovering from a shotgun blast to the chest after apparently trying to intervene in a domestic dispute.
The Longmont Times-Call says that Ned Hickman of Longmont is in a Denver hospital after he tried to help some apartment residents in a domestic dispute Saturday.
A homeless man, 34-year-old Michael Lee Pennington, is accused of firing the shot. Pennington was arrested early Sunday.
The newspaper says that Pennington did not know Hickman. Longmont Police say Hickman will likely survive the shooting but is seriously hurt.
