Borders Group, owner of the Borders and Waldenbooks chains, said it’s “disappointed” with holiday sales, which fell 14 percent from a year earlier.
Sales for the 11 weeks ended Saturday declined to $846.8 million, the Ann Arbor, Mich.- based company said in a statement Monday. Comparable- store sales slumped 15 percent at Borders stores and dropped 9.4 percent at Waldenbooks, it said.
