GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Six people were injured in a 20-vehicle accident on a wet, snowy highway that forced the closure of Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon for more than four hours Saturday.
One woman suffered a broken pelvis when she got out of her vehicle and was struck by another vehicle.
Five others were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.
The Colorado State Patrol said a trooper was investigating two crashes involving six vehicles when other vehicles began crashing behind him.
Three tractor-trailers were involved in the pileup on the elevated highway through the canyon, about 9 miles east of Glenwood Springs.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation Sunday.
