Federal authorities identified the two Florida men killed Saturday when their Colorado-bound aircraft crashed in a west-suburban Chicago neighborhood.
The pilot was Gary Lee Bradford, 37, of Hollywood, Fla., and his passenger, 32-year-old Drago Strahija, of Lake Worth, Fla., were killed when their twin-engine Piper Aerostar crashed in the unincorporated Sugar Grove subdivision, a National Transportation Safety Board spokeswoman said.
No one on the ground was hurt. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
The flight was to arrive at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport at 9:46 p.m. Saturday. The 36-year-old plane is registered to ENS Corp., a technology firm in Hollywood, Fla. Strahija was an ENS Corp., employee, and Bradford’s wife is the company’s president, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The plane crashed about two miles after take off from Aurora Municipal Airport.
