Jenny Lewis, the former child actor who made her musical name as leader of indie-country group Rilo Kiley, continues to assert her solo career with credibility-bestowing shows like Planet Bluegrass’ 20th Annual Folks Festival. The Aug. 13-15 event, which takes place in Lyons, will also feature Ani DiFranco, the Swell Season, Richard Thompson, the Waifs, Greg Brown and more to be announced. Roller Derby fans have a lot to look forward to in 2010: Earlier this week the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls announced they’ll play five of their eight home games this season at the Live Nation-owned Fillmore Auditorium, while competitors AEG Live Rocky Mountains and Kroenke Sports Enterprises revealed last week that the Denver Roller Dolls will call the Odeum their home for seven games.
