FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State University is preparing for a second year of steep tuition hikes.
The university plans to raise in-state tuition 9 percent next school year. That would be an extra $434 for in-state students.
Out-of-state students would have a 3 percent tuition hike, paying $622 more.
The university had a similar tuition hike last year as the state cuts funding for higher education. The tuition proposal for the 2010-2011 school year was released by administrators Wednesday.
The current average annual tuition and fees paid by a resident undergraduate is $6,318. The overall increase would net CSU an additional $13 million or so.
