Chris Del Bosco had the best time in the skicross qualifier. He made it down the 3,500-foot course in 1 minute, 28.724 seconds. Del Bosco, who lives in Vail, has dual citizenship and will ski for Canada in the Olympics.
• Eric Willett of Breckenridge made it into the finals of the snowboard slopestyle. His 87.33-point run ranked seventh.
• Bobby Brown, the 18-year-old slopestyle skiing specialist from Breckenridge, made his mark with a pair of perfect scores in big air competition to take his first X Games gold medal Friday. Brown wowed the crowd with a switch double misty 1260 for his first score of 100 in the jam-format event. He backed it up with an even bigger switch double misty 1440 for a second score of 100 before capping off the night with an old-school backflip.
