DOUGLAS COUNTY — A former longtime youth volunteer at the Denver Church of Christ is the subject of an ongoing sex-assault investigation.
William “Bill” McLaughlin, 45, faces multiple felony charges, including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received information in December about McLaughlin, alleging he had a sexual relationship with a child involved in the church.
A number of the sexual assaults allegedly took place in Douglas County, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Cocha Heyden.
