DENVER—Enterprise zones are parcels set aside with tax credits to lure investments.
But some 80 percent of Colorado is now included in one enterprise zone or another. And state politicians are asking whether the designation is outdated.
Two state lawmakers are working on measures to draw tighter boundaries around enterprise zones. They say the current designations are out of date.
Under current law, companies get tax breaks on investments for new equipment, job training, research and development, and rehabilitating vacant buildings to be used for new businesses.
