GREELEY, Colo.—A teenager is dead after a car she was riding in was hit broadside by a school bus north of Greeley.
Investigators say the Tuesday morning crash claimed a 15-year-old girl Karla Mendoza-Gonzalez, who was riding in the back seat. The victim’s brother, 16-year-old Francisco Mendoza-Gonzalez, was driving the car and was injured in the crash. A 14-year-old passenger was also injured.
Police say the accident happened as the teenage driver was making a turn from a stop sign.
At least one student on the school bus was also injured in the crash. Those injuries weren’t serious enough to have the student hospitalized.
The bus was from Eaton School District and was loaded with students at the time.
