DENVER—President Barack Obama will attend two fundraising events in Denver to help raise money for Sen. Michael Bennet.
Obama is scheduled to attend receptions on Feb. 18 at the Fillmore Auditorium and the Denver Sheraton.
An e-mail sent to potential donors said Obama’s early visit signals his commitment to Bennet, who was appointed to replace Ken Salazar. Bennet campaign manager Craig Hughes said Bennet and Obama have a good working relationship.
The campaign manager for Bennet’s primary challenger, former House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, says the early visit is a signal of panic within the Bennet campaign.
