Both players also were chosen all-Colorado by The Denver Post for the 2009 season. Smith, who has signed with UCLA, made 27 extra points and nine field goals, including a state-record 67-yarder off a free kick, for the Class 5A Lightning. He made the All-America first team. Martin, an out-of-state transfer for the 5A Wolves of Aurora, had 100 tackles, 28 for losses, and 11 sacks. He will play next season at Cal-Berkeley. Martin made the second team.
