Nebraska lawmakers were told the horse-racing industry in the state could wither and nearly die without a new form of betting. On Wednesday, lawmakers were asked to support a bill (LB1102) that would allow betting on previously run races. The betting would take place at machines at horse tracks, where bettors could view races that occurred sometime in the past at tracks all over the country. Specific information about the races would not be revealed so bettors wouldn’t know the outcomes. Maybe these lawmakers also would take the Colts and 13 1/2 points against the Saints.
